Lakers News: D’Angelo Russell Status Downgraded For Sunday’s Game Against Warriors

Another game without their starting point guard

As if things weren't bad enough for the Los Angeles Lakers going into Sunday's matchup against the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers announce point guard D'Angelo Russell will miss his fifth consecutive game.

Lakers insider Jovan Buha was the first to break the news.

D-Lo last played for LA in their first game back from the All-Star break on February 23 against the Warriors. He only played nine minutes before suffering an ankle injury while taking the ball out of the basket to inbound it.

The Lakers will be without their starting point guard, while the Warriors will welcome back their starting point guard, Stephen Curry, after missing 11 games.

Things continue to look grim for the purple and gold as they are scratching and clawing for a spot in the play-in tournament.

Can LA ever catch a break?
