The Los Angeles Lakers saw a good amount of success last season, as they made their way to the Western Conference Finals. While the ultimate goal wasn’t reached, they can build off everything as they enter into this upcoming year.

During the postseason, teams always encounter a few players who will try to get under the skin of opponents. For LA, that was Memphis Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks last season in the team’s first-round series.

Brooks talked a lot during the series, namely aiming most of it toward superstar LeBron James. He called James old and that he wasn't impressed unless someone dropped 40 on him. LA proceeded to beat the Grizzlies by 40 points in their game six victory.

He didn’t end up backing up his smack talk, granting the Lakers the last laugh as they took down Memphis in the series.

Brooks became public enemy number one in Los Angeles during the series and is still talking his talk about everything.

Despite everything, Brooks won’t back down, which as a competitor you have to respect. But even the greats know when they have been beaten.

During the series against the Lakers, Brooks averaged just 10.5 points per game and shot only 23.8 percent from beyond the three-point line. It was an extremely poor showing for the guard, and it’s a series that he would love to forget.

He is now a member of the Houston Rockets after signing a massive contract over the offseason, meaning that when Houston and LA link up this year, it should be a must-watch.
