One-time Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Ben McLemore is once again in search of a new international club.
Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops reports that the former seventh pick in the 2013 draft has been cut by Greek team AEK Betsson.
Across five contests with AEK Betsson, McLemore posted averages of 9.2 points per night on 50% of his field goal tries. The 6'3" vet, 30, last played for the NBA during the 2021-22 season. In 2023, he first signed with CBA club Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin, before eventually jumping ship to AEK Bettson.
Upon being flipped by the Houston Rockets to the Lakers during the 2020-21 season, McLemore appeared in 21 games off the bench for LA, averaging 17.5 minutes a night. He also averaged 10.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0. 5 assists.
He was ultimately not retained in the summer of 2021, as LA general manager Rob Pelinka made the biggest trade folly of his career in the team's front office, opting to ditch continuity in favor of a washed-up Russell Westbrook.
