Lakers News: Influencer Skeptical LA Can Ever Become Anthony Davis' Team
The Los Angeles Lakers have been kept afloat this season on the backs of their two All-Stars. Both Anthony Davis and LeBron James have been special for them, and it's allowed the team to stay in the race while dealing with other things beyond their control.
With James being in his Year 21 season, Davis has been looked at to take more of the reigns. He has done a solid job for the team, and the two players work together very efficiently.
This was the year that Davis was supposed to finally take the title of best player for the Lakers. However, not everyone is as sold on Davis taking the reigns, at least not yet.
Influencer and model Kryssy La Reina, speaking with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson of Bovada Casino, doesn't believe that Davis has taken the torch for this team as the best player.
The biggest issue with Davis over the years has been his consistency. However, this season he has been great for the team.
But we need to see it all year long. He has shown patches of greatness to carry the load at different times, but we need to see it long-term into the postseason.
When Davis is locked in, he is as good as anyone in the entire NBA. But there are moments where he seems disengaged, and it has hurt the Lakers' chance to win games.
He has played in 39 games this season, averaging 25.1 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 2.5 blocks per game. Davis could also have the inside track on being the 2024 Defensive Player of the Year if his availability continues to be strong (and his team rises in the standings).
For the Lakers to have any type of success this year, Davis will need to continue going strong. He is the engine that drives them, and they rely on him to set the tone each night out.
