Lakers News: Jabari Smith Talks Influence Of LeBron James Ahead Of Rockets-LA Rematch
Your Los Angeles Lakers are set to take on the Houston Rockets and seek revenge for their blowout loss a week and a half ago on the road.
LA struggled to get things going all game long, resulting in their largest margin of defeat, 128-94.
This time, LA will be at home and look to get a winning streak going against a young, up-and-coming Rockets team. Houston has had a great start to the season and has won six of their last seven games. They have a ton of young talent, but their most talented, with possibly the highest ceiling, is their second-year power forward, lottery pick Jabari Smith Jr.
Smith Jr. has had a solid start to the season and will look for another win on the purple and gold. He's 20 years old, but in a recent interview, he recognized the importance and impact Lakers superstar LeBron James had on the game of basketball and his game.
“
What can’t you take away? It’s his commitment to the game, even when everybody doubts him and he deals with a lot of naysayers.”
(Per Mark Medina of Sportskeeda)
James is the epitome of longevity at this point. He's been around the league longer than Smith Jr. has been alive. It's insane to think that he's not only still playing basketball, but he's playing it at an extremely high level.
It's unheard of at this point, and there's no better person to take from than James. It's a great person to model not only your game after but also your nutrition, work ethic, and mentality when it comes to taking care of your body.
