Back before Kobe was one of the Lakers legends, he was just a kid from Lower Merion High School trying to make it in the NBA.

His massive shoe deal, and the "Mamba" brand were nowhere to be seen.

In his first game in the NBA, Kobe wore a pair of Adidas shoes labeled the "KB 8." That sounds a whole lot more "normal" than the "Mamba" kicks he wore in the back half of his career, right?

When Kobe made the switch over to Nike, the shoes were rebranded as the "Adidas Crazy 8" as to have no mention of Kobe's name anywhere in the name.

Well, in honor of Kobe, Adidas is bringing back his debut sneaker in a reverse colorway, that's set to drop on August 28 overseas, and will hit US shelves in September.

Here's a look at the original shoes that Kobe wore on his debut:

Those exact shoes that Kobe wore went up at auction not too long ago, and they seemed to have fetched a pretty penny.

The new shoes don't have a retail price yet, but you've got to believe it's not going to be cheap.

With the popularity of the "Mamba" line, hoopers might want to feel what it's like to hoop in Kobe's original shoes.

That gets me wondering, which NBA star do you think would rock the new Crazy 8's in a game this year? It would have to be somebody with an Adidas deal.

Off the top of my head, I could see Dame rocking these for just a one off game. Maybe even James Harden?

It would be cool to honor Kobe if they wore the shoe on January 26, the day we lost Kobe.

Who would you want to see wear the new shoe this season, if anyone?
