Once the final buzzer sounded on game four of the Western Conference Finals, it was clear that the Los Angeles Lakers needed to upgrade the roster. Even amid all the talk of the potential LeBron James retirement, those around the team saw the flaws. The two stars didn't play up to par but the lack of consistent scoring and bench play doomed the team against the Denver Nuggets.

Lakers insider Jovan Buha of The Athletic mentioned some possible names that the team could go after using their mid-level exception this summer. Among those was Golden State Warriors swingman Donte DiVincenzo. The Lakers know DiVincenzo well after facing him during their postseason run.

DiVincenzo could provide a nice floor spacing wing that is also a capable defender. He also plays hard when on the court, which is something that head coach Darvin Ham wants from his players. And speaking of Ham, he has some familiarity with DiVincenzo due to his time as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks when DiVincenzo was there.

Maybe Ham could help recruite DiVincenzo to Los Angeles. He would fit in well with this Lakers team alongside James and Anthony Davis.

Last season with the Dubs, DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He also shot the ball extremely well from behind the arch at a 39.7 percent clip. It was the highest three-point percentage of his career so he obviously must have learned something while playing with the Splash Brothers.

The question remains of just how much the Lakers will actually have to spend with their mid-level exception but DiVincenzo would be a hell of a get. General Manager Rob Pelinka knows the team really needs to add more wing depth and this offseason, the team should look to make that a priority.
