Lakers News: Los Angeles Given Good Odds Of Landing MVP

This would be insane!
In this story:

Now that the main chunk of 2023 free agency is over within the NBA, fans are now shifting their attention towards the superstars that are still pushing to be traded from their current franchises. And it appears that deals are taking longer than expected because Damian Lillard is hellbent on finding his way to the Miami Heat and James Harden has his eyes set on the Los Angeles Clippers. In this new era of basketball where the players hold more power than ever when it comes to controlling their destiny, these teams are having a hard time finding legit trade packages that suit their wishes.

But let's focus on James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers. He was amped to team up with Joel Embiid when he got traded to Philly and claimed that was the place he had wanted to be for years. However, numerous playoff failures and injuries paved the way for yet another trade request and you have to think, has Joel Embiid had enough? He is 29-years-old and has yet to appear in a Conference Finals series... could Phill just decide to blow it up and trade both of them?

Well we know that the Clippers have the best odds to be the team of Harden's future for obvious reasons but your Los Angeles Lakers actually have been given +650 odds to successfully get a deal done for Embiid (per BetOnline). This makes them the franchise with the sixth best odds only trailing the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, Dallas Mavericks, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.

Even though these are decent odds, I can't see the Lakers going for such a deal. It would either mean parting ways with Anthony Davis or a mix of their depth and future draft capital. LA is finally in a good place with a good mix all-around and even though the deal would be tempting, I think the Lakers are content with their own offseason already.
