Lakers News: LA Legend’s Son Shared Heartfelt Advice to Bronny James Amidst Recovery
Bronny James has been subject to a national audience ever since he first started making noise in the basketball world just before high school. Being the son LeBron James meant that everybody was going to compare his impact on Sierra Canyon's team to that of his father's on St.Vincent St/Mary's team.
Bronny was able to figure out the perfect role for him... a relentless defender with a consistent three-point shot and enough athleticism to finish on fast breaks. The 18-year-old rising star landed multiple D-1 offers and ended up deciding to join the USC Trojans. However, just months before his freshman season was set to kick off, he fell into cardiac arrest in the middle of a team workout.
The good news is that Bronny appears to be stable now as he is back home and has been spotted in public with his family once again. And with the basketball world showing their support for him during this time, Shareef O'Neal has made sure to let Bronny know that he is here for him.
Shareef is the son of former Lakers champion big man, Shaquille O'Neal, and has always had a tight-knit relationship with Bronny. He had to undergo heart surgery at the end of 2018 right before his own freshman season at UCLA and in an interview with People, Shareef revealed what he told Bronny.
"I just said, any questions you have, you can ask me because I can probably answer them for you," said O'Neal.
