Lakers News: LA Misses Out On Yet Another Possible Hornets Trade

The Lakers miss out on another Hornets trade.

The Charlotte Hornets have been one of the more active teams heading toward the NBA trade deadline (slated for today at noon PT), but the Los Angeles Lakers are not one of the teams taking advantage of this.

The Hornets made another big move this morning, trading power forward PJ Washington and two second-round picks to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for power forward Grant Williams, combo guard Seth Curry, and a 2027 first-round pick, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

So far this season, Washington has averaged 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He will now be contributing to the Mavericks.

The Hornets previously traded Terry Rozier to the Miami Heat a couple weeks ago, in exchange for Kyle Lowry and a 2027 first-round pick. However, the Hornets were unable to trade Miles Bridges, who is refusing a trade.

Instead, the Lakers look like they won't be making any big moves before the deadline, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports that the Lakers have not been close to a deal this morning.

This would mean that the D'Angelo Russell will stay with Lakers, after being the primary Laker that was part of the several rumors heading into trade deadline day.
