Lakers News: LA Officially Announces Signing Of Spencer Dinwiddie

The newest addition to the Lakers is officially here!

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced their signing of guard Spencer Dinwiddie to the team. He joins the Lakers after being waived by the Toronto Raptors following a trade deadline deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

Los Angeles targeted Dinwiddie on the buyout market right away and landed their top target. The team held its ground at the deadline without making any moves but was determined to add talent through the buyout market. 

Dinwiddie joins the Lakers for the stretch run of the season, and the front office is excited about what he can bring to the squad. He is from Southern California, so he should be amped up to join his hometown team.

With the Brooklyn Nets, Dinwiddie averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and six assists per game. He also shot 32% from beyond the three-point line on the year.

If anything, he provides the Lakers with a ball-handling guard who can create his own shot. Dinwiddie loves to go uphill to get to the basket, and he should help the flow of the Los Angeles offensive attack. 

This is a stong signing on the buyout market for the Lakers as they look to make a push toward the playoffs.
