The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to sign Florida forward, Alex Fudge, to a Two-Way contract after an impressive effort in the NBA Summer League.

First reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Fudge was an instrumental part of the Lakers' Summer League roster, despite his low statistical numbers.

Fudge, who was undrafted out of Florida University, averaged 2.6 points on 33.3 percent field goal shooting and 1.4 rebounds in 11.2 minutes a game.

The the decision to sign the 6-foot-9, 200-lb forward to a two-way contract gives Fudge a chance to continue to develop within the Lakers G-League team, while getting some reps with the NBA roster when necessary.

Alex Fudge wasn't much of a stud during his collegiate career at Florida, as he only averaged 4.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game with a 40.5 percent field-goal percentage while averaging about 20 minutes per game in his sophomore year.

There must be something that the Lakers see in Alex Fudge that the average basketball fan does not see, and knowing how the Lakers personnel have taken undrafted players over the years (Alex Caruso and Austin Reaves) maybe they can develop Fudge into a solid forward that we don't really expect just yet.

There are other players, such as D'moi Modge and Colin Castleton, that were key standouts within this year's Summer League team that could very well make an impact in LA, too.
