Your Los Angeles Lakers' 2023-24 season has gotten off to a very strange start, but they have continued to push through the adversity that has come their way. It’s been an up-and-down year, but the team hasn’t wavered in their belief in one another.

You can add another strange occurrence to this year on Friday night prior to their game on Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Lakers were forced to evacuate the building after there were reports of shots being fired near the arena.

"Shots fired inside a porta potty near the Moda Center led the Los Angeles Lakers to evacuate the arena Friday afternoon, according to the Portland Police Bureau. Police told KOIN 6 that the building entered a brief lockdown around 12:07 p.m. after “a man and woman got into an altercation inside a porta potty near the ticket office.”

The most important part of this news was that everyone was safe, and while it interrupted the team's normal preparation, it didn’t affect the game. Even with this inconvenience happening, the Lakers still found a way to win the game, 107-95. They pretty much led from start to finish, and it was a great showing for LA in their third game of the In-Season Tournament.

The Lakers improved to 3-0 in the tournament, and they remained undefeated within it. It was a solid game from star LeBron James, and he was active all throughout the evening.

He scored 35 points in 35 minutes and also had nine assists and five rebounds in the performance. It was a classic James game, and it helped the Lakers get their record back over .500.

The team now heads home for the next few games before they head out on a multi-game road trip. Hopefully, they can take some lessons from this win, and use it to stack some wins together.
