Lakers News: LeBron James Acknowledges LA Chemistry "Not Where I Want It To Be"

James is confident LA's chemistry will evolve as the season progresses
In this story:

The Los Angeles Lakers stand at 1-1 through two games, and thus far, the purple and gold don't look like the world-beaters we all predicted they'd look, and that's fine.

October is not the month when you want to be playing your best basketball. Granted, you don't want to play like crap either, but LA is nowhere near where they want to be, and that's okay.

Specifically in the chemistry side of things. You can tell it's not quite there yet, and who better to let it be known than Lakers superstar LeBron James?

James spoke to the media following their Thursday night win over the Phoneix Suns, 100-95, and said he's okay with the team chemistry not being at its best right now.

LeBron spoke about the team's continuity as it stands early in the season and said, "It’s not where I want it to be, but that’s okay because it’s only the second game of the season. I’m not looking for it to be where we want it to be going down the stretch. We have new pieces we’re trying to integrate into the system, it’s going to take time.

"So, where the core has been kept intact, the guys are being asked to become the next version of themselves...it’s a process, a process that will take longer than two games—and that's a good thing."There’s no way we should be where I want us to be right now," LBJ said.

The Lakers haven't looked in sync this year, but in time, they will be. It was tough to watch them on Opening Night at times against the Nuggets, a team that has excellent cohesion and chemistry and a team that has stayed intact for several years compared to a Laker team that is still relatively new.

Now is not the time to panic about the chemistry. LeBron James-led teams typically take some time; before you know it, this team will look like the championship contenders we all predicted they'd be.

In the words of the great Aaron Rodgers, "R-E-L-A-X."
