Lakers News: LeBron James Climbs Up Record Books Again After Performance In Kings Loss /

It almost feels like every Los Angeles Lakers game nowadays includes All-NBA forward LeBron James setting some sort of record.

Now in his 21st season, James continues to etch his name higher and higher in the record books.

In Wednesday's loss against Sacramento, the 6'9" superstar recorded his 108th career triple-double, passing former LA assistant coach Jason Kidd for the fifth most in league history.

James recorded a stat line of 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists in the 125-110 loss against the Kings.

Perpetual Greatness

It's been repeated over and over again, but what LeBron is doing at this age, and at this point in his career, is unlike anything we have ever seen before.

No other player has averaged more than 7.4 points per game in their 21st season, and after Friday night's win against Portland James is now averaging 25.5 points per game. His continued and unwavering success as his career has gone on suggests that he will only continue to climb up the career leaderboard in Triple-Doubles, as well as several other statistical categories.

How High Can He Climb?

When looking at those who remain above James on the career triple-double leaderboard, it's only natural for one to ask if he can pass anybody else on the list before the future Hall of Fame calls it a career.

Unfortunately, it seems like James might plateau at fifth all-time. Above him are Russell Westbrook, Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Nikola Jokic.

With Jokic and Westbrook still continuing to rack up triple-doubles in their own respective Hall of Fame careers, James' best chance at passing anyone else on the list would be to pass another Laker great in Magic Johnson.

Johnson finished his career with 138 triple-doubles, 30 more than James currently has. Considering the 19-time All-Star's career-high in a season is 18 triple-doubles, it seems pretty unlikely that James will pass Magic this late into his career.

That being said, what the four-time league MVP has been doing and continues to do is utterly remarkable, and we should be grateful that we are able to watch his greatness night in and night out.
