Lakers News: LeBron James Counseled Draymond Green During Suspension

James wanted to check up on his friend.

One of the bigger storylines from the 2023-24 NBA season this year has been the suspension of All-Star Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green. Green has repeatedly gotten into altercations with opposing players, leading to his indefinite suspension. 

He will be returning to the court soon after receiving therapy, and the hope is that Green has learned his lesson. The NBA is better off with him on the floor, so it's up to him about what he took from it all.

During his suspension, Lakers star LeBron James reached out to Green to express his support. The two men have been friends for a long time, so this was a classy act by James.

“Bron checking in, ‘Yo, just want you to know that we with you,’” Green said. “‘We love you champ. We ride with you. Do whatever you gotta do. Know that we with you.’”

They may be rivals on the court, but this is really awesome from James. Green likely had been struggling with everything, so getting this message from his friend probably meant a lot. 

Green is one of the biggest competitors in the league, so James respects his game a lot. They have faced off in the postseason multiple times, including last season when the Lakers took down the Warriors in six games.

Hopefully, Green has learned his lesson and will refrain from getting into fights with players. If he has any more incidents, it will probably be the last of his basketball career.
