Lakers News: LeBron James Down On LA After Blowout Defeat Vs Kings
It has been an up-and-down year so far for the Los Angeles Lakers, and that rang true over 24 hours. On Tuesday night, the Lakers looked dominant in taking down the very-injured Memphis Grizzlies 134-107, but on Wednesday, they looked old and slow in their 125-110 loss to the Sacramento Kings.
Star LeBron James broke down what went wrong for LA in the game, and he didn’t seem too concerned. James has seen it all while in the NBA, but winning is the main goal for him this late in his career, so any loss likely is tough for him.
“We were down too many times throughout the game. Pretty much the game kicked around. They played exceptionally well. You could tell they came in with fresh legs and we looked like we were [playing] three games in four nights. I don’t take anything from that fourth-quarter push.”

It was a tough night overall for the Lakers, so James likely just wants to forget the performance. Coming into the game on the second night of a back-to-back, the Lakers looked tired from the opening tip.
It also didn’t help anything that they were playing against a Kings team that is known for their high-powered offense. Sacramento loves to run up and down the floor, and LA couldn’t match the energy.
Star big man Anthony Davis did like the fight from the team, despite the loss. They made the game close down the stretch, but couldn’t overcome the big deficit.
“We made a push, missed shots, a couple turnovers late. That was really it,” Davis said. “We could have pulled the plug but we’re not a quitting team. We continued to fight. Get ready to lace them up against Portland on Friday and try and get back in the win column.”

The Lakers will need to make sure that they come out strong to start games more often going forward, otherwise, they risk the season getting away from them. This was just one loss, but they don't want it to spiral into anything major.
