Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has never been shy about hying up his teammates over the years. In fact, he has willingly done so and loves to do it when they perform well.

Against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night, co-star Anthony Davis had himself a strong game, leading to another shoutout from James. Davis led the way for the team, posting 32 points and 13 rebounds.

“Tonight was an A.D. game for us,” James said. “He needs to touch the ball, and we want him to be aggressive offensively and anchor our defense. He did a great job attacking the basket and guarding the glass.”

James knows that when Davis plays this effectively, the Lakers are tough to beat. It would be nice if he could do it every game, but Davis does tend to check out sometimes.

But this game was special to James, not only because the team got a win. But because it was his yearly return to Cleveland. Coming home for James is always a great time, and he understands the importance of it.

“Stepping back on this floor and knowing I was part of pretty much all the banners in this arena, that’s pretty cool,” said James, who starred on all six of the Cavaliers’ Eastern Conference title teams. “It’s very special to be a kid from Akron and to have been drafted here and played 11 years in Cleveland.”

Per Brian Dulik of NBA.com

James is the most decorated member of Cavaliers franchise history, and he helped deliver them their only title. He is loved in the city of Cleveland, and it will also be another home for him.
