Lakers News: LeBron James Pays Moving Tribute To Fallen Cleveland Sports Legend
On Friday, the sports world lost football legend Jim Brown at the age of 87. Brown was widely considered one of the greatest football players to ever live and brought the city of Cleveland their first sport's championship.
It's a sad day in the sports world, and many athletes have already expressed how much Brown will be missed, including our very own Lakers forward, LeBron James. James took to his Instagram and shared some kind words for the football legend.
Here's a piece of what James had to say about his dear friend.
I am so grateful that I was able to call you my friend. I hope I can continue to honor your legacy with my words and actions. My prayers to your family. I know they are all incredibly proud of everything you did for our community! #LegendsNeverDie🙏🏾
The former Cleveland Cavalier shared some kind words for the Cleveland legend. James was responsible for bringing home the city's first sports championship since Brown, which came in historic fashion in 2016.
Although Brown was a famous sports figure, he was also active in the civil rights movement in the 1960s and an actor as well.
James and Brown will go down as all-time greats, especially in Ohio and the city of Cleveland. The Hall of Famer will always be remembered as he and LeBron will be tied together forever.
