According to reports, Lakers Summer League starlet, Max Christie, has suffered a hip strain in Wednesday's 95-90 loss to the Boston Celtics.

First reported by The Athletic's, Jovan Buha, the second-year Lakers is day-to-day moving forward.

Christie's Hip Strain came with a great performance, dropping 24 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. There's no doubt that Christie can get passed this minor setback and continue to pave his way into the Lakers active roster.

At only 20 years old, Christie has proved himself to be a leader for this young summer squad, and he's really starting to look like the most improved player in the organization.

Lakers Head Coach, Darvin Ham, has already stated that he is ready to implement the Sophomore into the Lakers rotation, and looking at his stats, Christie has earned his place.

Through five summer league games (2022 and 2023), Christie has been upping up his average - 19.8 points/per game, 5.8 rebounds/per game, 3.8 assists/per game, plus 55% from 3  and a 96.8% FT percentage.

At this point, Christie's time in the Summer League should come to an end.

The 35th pick of the 2022 NBA Draft has nothing left to prove and the Lakers should sit him out for the rest of the tournament, preparing him for the upcoming NBA season.

And if what Darvin Ham has said comes true, all the NBA teams should be aware of the depth the Lakers have this year. Christie backing up Austin Reaves and D'Angelo Russell is the best weapon the Lakers could have in their back pocket.
