The Los Angeles Lakers rebounded well against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday evening, just one game after their 44-point debacle at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers. It was a game that LA needed to grab, and they took care of business from the opening tip.

The final score was 133-107, but the game felt even more lopsided throughout. The Lakers were in control the entire time, and it was one of their more complete performances.

Pistons head coach Monty Williams spoke about the game after the fact, and gave an interesting response to how his team deals with the struggles they have seen this year.

“This group struggles with adversity,” Pistons coach Monty Williams said.

LA added to the misery that Detroit has seen this year, and it was an impressive showing for them. They outscored the Pistons in each quarter, en route to the victory.

Point guard D'Angelo Russell led the way for the Lakers with 35 points, and he put on quite the show. Detroit had no answer for the Lakers attack, and it's been a challenging first season with the Pistons for Williams.

“My job is to help our guys fight through this," said Williams, who is in his first season after leading Phoenix and New Orleans. "I told our guys, one way you gain this respect in this game and in life is when you’re going through a tough time, and you hang in there.”

This was the type of game the Lakers badly needed. Far too often this season they have had tough battles, so to be able to have a blowout, it was a breath of fresh air for this squad.
