Lakers News: NBA Announces New 2023 Final Four Tournament in Las Vegas
The Los Angeles Lakers know better than most teams just how important the regular season is and even though opposing fans love to point how LeBron James among other superstars has opted to take games off over the past few years due to load management, he was out there whenever he was able to in their 2022-2023 campaign.
LA started off the season 2-10 and didn't really flip the switch until after the trade deadline when GM Rob Pelinka was able to get them some real depth. And now that they have made more huge offseason moves, LA indeed will be running it back with some marginal upgrades and they will look to bring the same momentum that they had in the postseason once the regular seasons kicks off.
And they will have a new in-season tournament to look forward to. This has been an idea that the NBA has been mulling over for some time as they want the players to take the regular season more seriously along with getting more fans to tune in. Well, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that some dates for the tournament in the new season have been set.
"ESPN Sources: The NBA's new In-Season Tournament Final Four is set for December 7 and 9 in Las Vegas. Statistics will count for the league's regular season, except for the championship game of the event."
Keep an eye out for July 8th as full details for the entire tournament including specific dates, brackets, exact pulls and more will all be revealed then.
Fox Sports also already shared some other facts about the upcoming tournament.
"It's already been reported that the tournament will be divided into six pools with five teams apiece, and pools will consist of teams within the same conference, but not necessarily the same division. Teams will play four group games, matching up with each team in their pool once, with winners advancing to a single-elimination stage."

We cannot wait to hear the full details and we hope that our Lakers come out on top once it kicks off!
