The Los Angeles Lakers recently watched as one of their most cherished players in franchise history, Pau Gasol, finally got inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame after a legendary career that saw him help re-define what it meant to be a center in the NBA. His success with the purple and gold combined with his longevity in the league and international success representing his country of Spain, Gasol garnered the respect of the entire NBA.

The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is very interesting because it is not just the NBA Hall of Fame, meaning that collegiate and olympic success along with impact on the overall sport play a huge role in whether a certain player makes it or not.

It's a special time every year when new names make it in and multiple former members of the Lakers have been able to hear their names called and share some heartfelt speeches. Now that Gasol is finally the newest addition to the club... will another ex-Los Angeles player follow him there soon?

Hoops Rumors' Arthur Hill believes that A.C. Green, who suited up for the purple and gold from 1985 to 1993 and won three championships, has a fringe case to make it.

"A.C. Green

set an NBA record by playing in 1,192 consecutive games. Even though he didn’t put up flashy numbers, he won three championships with the Lakers and was a steady contributor for his entire 16-year career."

Green was vital to majority of the rosters he was on and was beloved in the locker room while also doing a lot of dirty work on the court.

We'll have to see how the voting processes and overall classes pan out but we do hope to see his name in there at some point!
