Lakers News: Rui Hachimura Optimistic LA Can String More Wins Together

LA should take things one game at a time.

Your Los Angeles Lakers' 2023-24 season hasn't exactly started the way anyone would have hoped, especially given the continuity that they brought back this offseason. The club is 8-6 through its first 14 games, and way too reliant on soon-to-be-39-year-old superstar LeBron James to come through with 30+ point performances and clutch fourth quarters to bail out the club's lackluster three-point shooting.

But the team has found different ways to win games amid their issues, and it has them feeling good about themselves.

LA knows how to play together, but with multiple guys out of the lineup due to injury, it can be difficult. They have talked about it previously, but it's the truth.

Forward Rui Hachimura believes that the wins will come soon and that the team is still trying to figure things out this season.

“Last year, we made a big run and the main guys came back,” forward Rui Hachimura said. “We’ve still been building our chemistry. We’re still trying to figure it out. I think we’re getting better. I can feel it.”

The biggest issue for the Lakers has been their lack of three-point shooting. It continues to be a problem for this team, and we will likely see the front office address it at the trade deadline.

In their win over the Houston Rockets, the shooting woes showed themselves again, but LA found a way to win. It's been their bread and butter so far this year, but it isn't a sustainable way to play.

"The Lakers are 26th in the league in three-point shooting percentage at just 33.8%. In the win over the Rockets, they made only six of 29 threes (20.7%)."

Per Dylan Hernandez of The Los Angeles Times

LA will need to figure something out moving forward, but they are getting good looks. The team needs to knock down shot attempts when given the chance, and if they can even do make them at an average rate, they would be a tough team to beat.
