Lakers News: Stephen A Smith Begs Anthony Davis To Play Consistently For One Selfish Reason

We ALL want a more consistent AD.
In this story:

Lakers big man Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the sport but one thing that holds him back from being elite is his inconsistent play.

LA's first two games of the year showed that issue in full force as he followed up a scoreless second half in the season opener with a dominant 30-point double double against Phoenix.

Most fans of the purple and gold won't know what to expect with the oft-injured superstar on a nightly basis and one analyst has also noticed such a trend.

The Lakers' championship hopes fringe on Davis' health and consistent play and famed ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith is desperate to see that come to fruition in 2024.

Smith has one of the cushiest jobs in the sports media world but his pathetic plea to visit LA in June has to be one of the worst reasons to bet on the Lakers for a Finals run.

The ESPN personality suffered the "awful fate" of visiting Milwaukee and Denver for the season finale of the NBA season in back-to-back seasons, indicating his dislike for small markets.

Perhaps this is the only hope Smith has in the basketball realm as his beloved New York Knicks haven't made a conference finals run in this century.

Several like Smith haven't been satisfied with Davis' lack of control on the Lakers forcing an ever aging LeBron James to be the team's best player each night.

When the duo paired up in 2019, it was expected that the former Kentucky Wildcat would finally realize his potential as an MVP and Defensive Player of the Year with the Lakers.

Five years into his LA tenure, Smith and plenty of Lakers fans are still waiting for his emergence as the best player on their championship team.
