A quiet trade deadline has made for some intriguing conversations regarding certain trade talks that didn't amount to anything.

Arguably the most noteworthy trade talk was a Golden State Warriors-Los Angeles Lakers trade featuring LeBron James being sent to Golden State. While there's limited clarity regarding the return package from the Warriors, the notion that this was possible in any way is extremely surprising, and has subsequently drawn the question of who let it even be public information in the first place.

When asked about the move, Curry had an interesting response (per Scott Polacek of Bleacher Report):

"'No, never surprised,' Curry told reporters when asked if he was shocked to see Golden State making such inquiries. "It's always a surprise when stuff like that gets out because I'm assuming that every team is making calls that if every fanbase or media group would know about it, it would normalize the conversations that happen in the front office, especially around the trade deadline when you're exploring around the league who's available and who's not."

Curry suggesting that he wasn't surprised implies that he either had some knowledge of the situation as it was going on, or Golden State has historically been just as aggressive for players like James, prompting Curry to expect it coming.

Steph furthered:

"A guy like Bron, you would probably call just to see. I don't know what the depths of the conversations were, but it was a nice little surprise this morning for sure."

This comment implies Curry didn't have knowledge of it, but the entire situation in general remains a bit of a mystery that could have adverse effects on Golden State's team chemistry, as quite a few players would've had to have been put on the block for there to even be reception from the Lakers on a potential trade.
