The Los Angeles Lakers displayed tremendous heart and came within just a few plays and miss three-pointers from stealing a win in Denver on Tuesday night.

All eyes were definitely on the elite big-man matchup of Nikola Jokic and Anthony Davis and during the first half, the two-time MVP for the Nuggets was winning the battle on every end.

At the end of the first half, the Nuggets were leading 72-54 and Jokic was putting up a masterclass performance that seemed to be a statement towards an LA squad looking to shock the world.

Even when the third quarter rolled around and the purple and gold finally made some defensive adjustments to contain, the Serbian All-Star pulled off a ridiculous triple at the buzzer and AD could do nothing but smile.

Davis would go to end the game with 40 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks as he was able to heat up in the second half and form a nice two-man game with Rui Hachimura.

However, LA did come up short and dropped game one with the final score being 132-126 and both LeBron James and Anthony Davis left Ball Arena with a lot of emotions all over their face.

They both know the opportunity that was in front of them and after being able to steal two road games to kick off their previous two series this year, they are now in unfamiliar territory with this group.

But the Lakers being in the playoffs also means that whenever they are in a different city, they have targets all over their back. It appears that Nuggets fans were getting pretty confident when AD was leaving the stadium and it almost lead to a confrontation if security guards were not present.

Have a look for yourself.

Over the past couple of seasons, it's been evident that fans do not have a filter at times and players haven't been shy of letting officials know that that behavior should not be tolerated.

Hopefully it is yet another moment Davis keeps in mind as he looks to lead the Lakers to a game two victory.
