Lakers News: Lamar Odom Finally Addresses Early Morning Car Crash
Lamar Odom, probably the third-best player for your Los Angeles Lakers on three consecutive NBA Finals squads from 2008-10 (including two straight titles, in '09 and '10), had a bit of a hiccup over the weekend.
The retired 6'10" big man crashed his Mercedes into two parked cars around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, but somehow wriggled out of taking a field sobriety test from attendant LAPD officers. The two cars were unoccupied and Odom was ultimately unharmed, which is the most important thing of course.
Now, the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year has taken to his personal Twitter/X account to deliver a shoutout to his fans and well wishers who have sent positive vibes his way across the past day or so, since the news came out. Interestingly, his missive was sent over a retweet of the TMZ news article reporting the crash, seemingly confirming all the details therein.
"Thank you for everyone that has reached out and checked in on me!!" Odom wrote. "Appreciate the love."
Here's hoping Odom rebounds quickly from this incident and can get back to thriving and enjoying his retirement. We're looking forward to seeing him on the sidelines at The Crypt this coming season.
