The South Bay Lakers have announced their schedule for the 2023-2024 season. The team is led by new head coach Dane Johnson, who was hired a few weeks ago. He is the 10th coach in the history of the South Bay Lakers.

Your Los Angeles Lakers' NBA G League affiliate will start their 17th year on November 10th against the Rip City Remix inside the UCLA Health Training Center.

They will play Rip City three straight times to open the year, with two being at home and once being played up in Portland.

This is an exciting time for any basketball fan because it means that the season is almost here. The South Bay Lakers have helped produce talent all across the league, and they will boast some notable names this year.

Two-way players Colin Castleton, Alex Fudge and D’Moi Hodge all will take center stage for the G League squad this year, with the hope that they could maybe join the Lakers at some point. LA has taken players from the G League and helped turn them into quality role players, so you never know who could make an appearance.

The Lakers would love to see any of these three players come to show their skillset at some point in the year, even if it’s to help take the load off players for a few games. They all played well during the NBA Summer League and will be given every chance to earn minutes.

The G League has become a great way for players to learn and grow their games while showcasing what they can do to the entire NBA. It has taken a big step in recent years in terms of overall quality while being praised by some for getting players ready more efficiently than at the college level.

We’ve seen in recent years that players prefer to play a season in the G League rather than in college before they declare for the NBA Draft.

With this new scheduled announcement for the South Bay Lakers, basketball is just right around the corner. It’s time to get excited and it should be another fun season ahead!
