After trying to sneak a cheap-shot foul against LeBron James' family jewels during an eventual 111-103 Game 3 Los Angeles Lakers win over his Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis small forward Dillon Brooks was quickly caught and ejected from the contest.

Following the game, players speculated as to whether or a steeper penalty -- an ejection -- could be in the cards for the 6'7" University of Oregon product.

Sources inform Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN that, after a review from the NBA, the league has decided that it will not subject Brooks to further punishment for the infraction. He will not be suspended, meaning Brooks will be available to play in Game 4 on Monday.

Joe Vardon of The Athletic writes that this could be interpreted as something of a mea culpa from the NBA regarding its ejection-plus-suspension penalty for Warriors star power forward Draymond Green, after the 6'6" Michigan State University alum stepped on the sternum of Sacramento Kings All-Star center Domantas Sabonis, after a laid-out Sabonis grabbed Green's foot during a live ball possession.

Vardon adds that having Brooks' defensive activity back on the hardwood for the Grizzlies should benefit Memphis. His shooting may have been an eyesore last night, but he has more value to Memphis on the other side of the ball.
