Lakers News: LeBron James And Maverick Carter's Uninterrupted Starting Film Festival
With trips to Europe with the family and a visit to the Louis Vuitton fashion show, Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James has had a very busy and interesting summer.
Despite all of this fun that he is having, James is still putting in some work on his offseason hobbies, most particularly in film.
After securing a deal with CNN for his freshly-produced Wilt Chamberlain docuseries "Golitah," James and long-time friend and entertainment mogul, Maverick Carter, have announced they are hosting a brand-new film festival, named after their company Uninterrupted, per Herbert Lowe of The Los Angeles Times.
Hosted in Los Angeles, this film festival is set to premiere numerous films and documentaries based on the empowerment of athletes across the globe, giving athletes the chance to tell their stories from a humane perspective.
“It’s about time that we’re able to celebrate and do this...I’m shocked that no one has done this before,” said Uninterrupted GM Jimmy Spencer on the announcement of the one-day film festival.
The festival's venue will be at the Neuhouse Hollywood, and will feature two films.
"Goliath" tells the story of former Laker great Chamberlain, and is also being produced by the LA-based film company owned by another NBA great, Kevin Garnett, Content Cartel.
The other film, "Black Ice," is a documentary exploiting the history of racism in ice hockey, told by black athletes, both past and present, and their experiences in the pre-dominantly white sport.
The Uninterrupted Film Festival is also set to have panels with high-profile athletes, such as Sixers Center, Joel Embiid, and New York Giants Linebacker, Kayvon Thibodeaux, presenting their respective film firms.
The festival is set to conclude with a one-hour live taping of "The Draymond Green Show," the popular free agent forward's podcast.
