All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James took to his personal Instagram today to celebrate this evening's Hall of Fame induction of his former Miami Heat teammate and fellow 2003 draftee Dwyane Wade.

James and Wade battled plenty throughout their careers on the hardwood, but were always close friends off it. During probably the most epic free agent period in NBA history, All-Stars James, Wade and Bosh opted to join forces on the Heat, and expected to compete for oodles of titles.

They did appear in four straight NBA Finals, winning in 2012 and 2013, before James departed in free agency again for the Cleveland Cavaliers, with whom he promptly went to four more straight NBA Finals (Wade was briefly a Cavs reserve during the 2017-18 season, but ultimately would be flipped back to Miami before the year was out). Wade and James were also teammates on two Olympic teams and one FIBA World Cup team.

"Today is the official day my brother @dwyanewade goes into the HOF!!!!!" James wrote. "WOW WOW WOW bro!! Man I can't say enough how proud and happy I am of/for you. The kid from Robbins, IL now in the HALL!!! You a bad man Trey Ball!"

Wade responded to his comrade's missive.

"Earned not Given 🫡 ⚡️," Wade wrote in response.

Across 1,054 regular season contests, Wade boasts averages of 22.0 points on 48% shooting, 5.4 assists, 4.7 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 0.8 blocks a night. In his prime, he was one of the most ferocious two-way wings in the league, an excellent perimeter defender at his position with speed so off-the-rails he earned the nickname "Flash" for his efforts.
