Your Los Angeles Lakers survived a very choppy start to their 2022-23 NBA season before team vice president of basketball operations Rob Pelinka completely revamped their roster.

LA's lone All-Star this season, future first-ballot Hall of Fame forward LeBron James, has seen enough to think that his 40-38 team has what it takes to go all the way this year.

After winning their third straight contest and 10th game in their last 14, James noted his confidence that LA can win it all in 2023, a bit of a bold proclamation after what has been a fairly brief hot streak, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

"We just want to put ourselves in position to be able to compete for a championship," James said following the team's latest victory, a 134-109 masterpiece against the lowly Houston Rockets. "It's a journey, and obviously, we don't have as much chemistry as a lot of other teams trying to compete for a championship or that have aspirations to win a championship, but I like what we've been building over the last month or so.

“Even when I was out for the four weeks [with a right foot tendon tear], I liked what we’ve been building, and I’m happy to be back in the mix,” James continued.

"These last four games are very important for our team," James said of the Lakers' home stretch. "Not only in wins and losses but in the chemistry side of it, as well. We got to continue to build what we've been building over the last month or so. So, we'll see what happens."
