Injured Los Angeles Lakers All-Star LeBron James has missed the last 11 games of LA's season due to a mysterious right foot tendon injury. Though his head coach publicly claimed he expected James back with LA at some point during the team's final 10 contests of its 2022-23 regular season, one expert is a bit less sure.

On the latest episode of his podcast with Marc Stein, #thisleague UNCUT, Chris Haynes revealed that the odds James returns at all down this home stretch of the regular season are closer to 50/50.

"I think obviously the goal is for LeBron to return at some point before the season concludes, but what I'm hearing [is] that still might be a push right there, him returning at some point," Haynes said. "I remember I reported a few weeks ago that... the Lakers had to do everything that they could to try to win as many games as possible, to give LeBron James as much time to recover as possible. So that means that even when he does back, he might not be fully healthy, but [the Lakers are] just trying to buy him some time. With that being said, I don't know how realistic it is that he returns with some games left in the regular season."

Head coach Darvin Ham offered up a more hopeful thought on an LBJ return timeline, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic

"We anticipate him coming back at some point [this season," Ham said.

Given that the Lakers only have 10 games left in said regular season, the team is rapidly running out of runway for James.
