Lakers News: LeBron James Reacts To Super Bowl Halftime Performer News

All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James has always been a huge football fan. The 38-year-old was, after all, a one-time standout wide receiver while at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio before he pivoted his full attention to basketball.
He's remained a hardcore NFL appreciator even decades into his NBA career.
After ESPN announced that longtime multiplatinum R&B superstar Usher would be performing at Super Bowl LVIII, James took to his Instagram Stories to register his excitement.
He wrote, "@usher AYYYYYYEEEEEE Let's Go!", alongside the post from ESPN and SportsCenter trumpeting the news.
Now 44, Usher has been a staple on the pop scene since the mid-1990s, boasting sales of over 23 million records stateside and 65 million across the globe.
James has a similar legacy of longevity on the hardwood. The 19-time All-Star is set to embark on his 21st pro season (meaning, yes, he has played professionally more years than he hasn't at this point in his life) in 2023-24.
His 20th was pretty notable, as he and Anthony Davis helped guide Los Angeles back to the Western Conference Finals, while James averaged eye-gauging regular season numbers of 28.9 points on .500/.321/.768 shooting splits, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks a night.
