In knocking off the Golden State Warriors during the second round of these 2023 Western Conference playoffs, Los Angeles Lakers All-NBA small forward LeBron James also knocked a fellow Laker out of their tie for the most-ever playoff series victories to claim sole ownership of the record.

James' 41st playoff series win is a new high in all-time postseason excellence, according to ESPN. Per Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, The Chosen One formerly shared the record, 40 playoff series victories, with ex-LA point guard Derek Fisher (now a Lakers commentator for Spectrum SportsNet). Fisher, of course, appeared in seven NBA Finals with the Kobe Bryant-era Lakers, winning five titles. He also played a major role on playoff-bound Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder clubs in his NBA dotage.

Can James, currently playing in his 12th Conference Finals appearance, bolster that record even more with another series victory over the Denver Nuggets? Tonight's Game 1 road matchup certainly isn't going the Lakers' way, but this is a best-of-seven series, after all. And LA still has at least two home games left to play.

Regardless, the 38-year-old continues to play at an All-Star level even in his 20th NBA season (and his 16th postseason). During the playoffs thus far, James is averaging 23.4 points on 49.1% shooting from the field, 10 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.9 steals a night.
