Lakers News: LeBron James' Son Bryce Among Top 15 NIL Valuations
The power of a brand means everything within the sports world. For All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James and his family, it means everything.
The pull that James has across the sports realm is insane, and we are seeing it play out within how his kids are being valued. The rise of NIL deals in college athletics has allowed the college athletes to finally get some financial compensation from their own name, image and likeness.
After so many years of the NCAA exploiting the student-athletes, they finally have some power back. It’s been great to see so far, and the amount of money being sent out is crazy, even for some who aren’t even in college yet.
Bryce James, the younger son of LeBron James, has found his way into the top 15 of Name, Image and Likeness-valued earnings. The 6'6" sophomore shooting guard at Campbell Hall Episcopal in Studio City has yet to even pick a college destination, but his brand built by his father is something to behold.
He comes in right at number 15, and according to On3.com, his NIL value is at $1.2 million. This is insane, especially for a kid who isn't even in college yet.
But he expects to play college basketball wherever he does go. Recently, he took a visit to Ohio State and there is plenty of interest there. But his older brother Bronny James also took a visit to Ohio State, before he ultimately decided to attend USC this year.
This will be fascinating to watch play out, and wherever Bryce goes, his dad's legacy will follow him.
