Lifelong LA Fan Gabe Vincent Reveals Favorite Lakers Memory
When the Lakers signed former Miami Heat point guard Gabe Vincent this offseason, it was met with a ton of positive feedback. He is a scrappy two-way player who shoots the ball well from deep, and he should help them immensely this season.
Vincent hails from Modesto, California and attended the University of California, Santa Barbara for college. It makes sense, then, that Vincent is very familiar with the history of the Lakers.
At Lakers Media Day, the 27-year-old Vincent was asked if he has any specific historic Lakers moment that is his favorite, and his answer will make LA fans happy.
“The first that sticks out in my mind is Kobe lob to Shaq after a cross at the top of the key. Yeah, it was 2000, Portland I believe. So that’s the clip that just jumped into my mind.”

This is a great moment to bring up because it happened in game seven to send to Lakers to the NBA Finals. LA went on to take down the Indiana Pacers in the series, and the duo of Bryant and O’Neal won their first of three titles together.
Vincent continued with his thoughts and confirmed that he couldn’t bring up the strong Lakers duo within his answer.
It’s hard to talk about the Lakers without talking about Kobe and Shaq. I think that’s ya know my era as well, so it jumps to the forefront of my mind.”

It’s awesome to see one of the newest Lakers talk about the history of the team. So, he watched and rooted for LA while growing up, and now he is a member of the historic organization.
Hopefully, Vincent can have some legendary playoff moments of his own this season and beyond. LA has a great chance to win the title, and Vincent will be a big piece of their puzzle.
