Lakers News: Longtime LeBron James On-Court Enemy Explains "Complex" Off-Court Relationship

It's cool to see this mutual level of respect between the two stars!

Steph Curry and LeBron James are two of the greatest NBA players of all time, and we get to live through their greatness. They have dominated the league for years and still do so to this day. The two greats have battled each other in the playoffs time after time, and it has only made each other grow fonder of each other.

There is a level of respect for a competitor that's there when you see each other multiple times, with each side winning at different times. These two have that for one another, despite the media painting the two as bitter rivals.

Fans from the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors also see it this way, but the two men share a strong friendship.

Curry recently talked about their relationship and how it can be complex at times due to them being forced to compete against one another.

"It's complex, because you go from me playing in the tournament, him coming to watch to me coming in as a young rookie in the league and he giving me advice on how to get through some of the early struggles I was going to go through as a player, to the four finals appearances in a row," Curry said, according to Daniel Chavkin of Sports Illustrated.

Per Bleacher Report

James has been a mentor to Curry and is genuinely happy about his success. Their relationship has grown past the fierce battles and is now at a mutual level of respect for one another.

The two were matched up against each other in the playoffs this past season as the Lakers took down the Warriors in six games. They never get tired of the matchups because they know that to get to the top of the mountain, they likely have to go through one another.

For stars like themselves, this is another challenge and one that both men pleasantly pursue each season. As the new year gets started here soon, both players are looking to add another ring to their future Hall-of-Fame resumes. They know it won’t be easy, but that’s just the way both of them like things.
