Lakers News: Top 3 Jazz Free Agent Candidates For LA
Your 40-38 Los Angeles Lakers are looking to put in work tonight on the road against a 36-42 Utah Jazz team that could be missing a bevy of its best players.
Some of the Jazz's top free agents this coming summer are familiar faces to LA fans. Let's dive in.
3. Talen Horton-Tucker
I personally don't think a long-term developmental project makes sense for the very old, very injury-prone Lakers' timeline, as we witnessed firsthand during THT's first stint in LA. But the young guard has come on of late during his first season for Utah, and shown plenty of tantalizing flashes that makes him at least an intriguing prospect for someone out there. It shouldn't be LA.
2. Rudy Gay
Gay, a 36-year-old floor-stretch combo forward, could be had for a veteran's minimum deal, and at that number could have some benefit for the Lakers off the bench.
1. Jordan Clarkson
Clarkson is the best Jazz player who will be hitting the market this summer. Initially drafted by a prior LA front office regime in 2014 with the No. 46 pick out of Missouri, Clarkson has emerged as a yearly Sixth Man of the Year candidate for Utah. The 30-year-old will be fairly in-demand this summer, and the Lakers probably need to prioritize defensive help on the wing over shooting. But if the price is right, he's worth a look.
Los Angeles has plenty of big free agency decisions to make this summer. Let's see how everything shakes out.
