Lakers News: Official Timeline Revealed for LeBron James Return From Foot Injury

Uh oh.
In this story:

We now have some more details on the extend of the mysterious "right foot injury" suffered by Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James.

Per Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, the Chosen One has suffered a right foot tendon injury. That's still a bit vague, but it's an improvement over the previously diagnosed "right foot injury."

Though initially expected to be reassessed in two weeks, it now appears that timeline has been extended to three. That does not mean he will be able to return to the hardwood in three weeks, just that LA's medical staff will take a gander at his health at that point in time.

The 30-33 Lakers have a not-unformidable schedule in the coming weeks in terms of difficulty, including games against much healthier teams with better records, like the Memphis Grizzlies, New York Knicks, and yes, Kevin Durant's Phoenix Suns. The longer this James absence draws out, the slimmer their chances of making the play-in tournament this season.

Los Angeles will certainly have plenty of winnable games on its slate, including two games against old pal Patrick Beverley's Chicago Bulls and contests against the lottery-bound Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets. At least, those games should be winnable, provided that D'Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis can return healthy for the vast majority of them.
