Playing For Lakers Feels Like Being In A Movie For Freshly Extended Forward
Lakers fans are very excited to see how their 2023-2024 roster is able to come together in the coming weeks for preseason games to give them a first look at what to expect in the new year. It feels like LA's front office has made all of the right moves this past summer to ensure that even if this is LeBron James' final year dawning purple and gold, he'll have proper teammates around him to contend for another NBA title.
We all saw how important it was to have defensive-minded players on the floor in the playoffs as the Lakers faced some elite scoring guards in Ja Morant, Stephen Curry and Jamal Murray. Newly-extended forward Jarred Vanderbilt actually took on these challenges in numerous postseason games and it was evident that even though he struggled on offense at times, he was doing whatever it took to fight over screens and keep up with them on the other end.
Vanderbilt brought a ton of much-needed energy the second he landed in LA following the blockbuster Russell Westbrook trade. The Lakers were in a very tough spot at the point of the season and if they wanted to sniff the playoffs, major changes were needed.
Therefore, Vanderbilt along with other reinforcements were brought in and the result was a trip to the Western Conference Finals. The former Kentucky Wildcat inked a four-year, $48 million extension just a couple of weeks ago with the franchise and in an exclusive podcast appearance with Theo Pinion, he described how playing for the Lakers is like being in a movie.
"You play every day on the big stage," said Vanderbilt. "It was night and day coming from Utah... playing for the Lakers is like no other franchise. Everywhere you go, it's just like a movie, the lights are brighter."

We are beyond excited to see what Vando brings to the team this season!
