Lakers News: Rich Paul Responds To LeBron James' Possible Retirement
Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports and longtime friend and rep of Los Angeles Lakers All-NBA superstar LeBron James, has finally (briefly) weighed in on his most famous client's threats to retire this summer.
The 38-year-old James was clearly feeling less-than-stellar after suffering a four-game Western Conference Finals sweep at the hands of the Denver Nuggets, who currently lead the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals 1-0, with Game 2 set to tip off tonight.
Paul spoke with Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com while in the Cleveland 'burb of Shaker Heights, Ohio at niche sportswear shop Xhbition to commemorate the release of his new Klutch Athletics brand.
“I have an expectation just as you do,” Paul said. “We’ll see.”
Talk about keep your cards close to the chest.
James, who Paul says is relaxing while drinking wine on the French Riviera, has been cagey since floating the possibility that he might really walk away. The 6'9" combo forward, a 19-time All-Star, enjoyed yet another stellar regular season when he was healthy, averaging 28.9 points on 50% shooting from the floor, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, and 0.9 steals a night in his 55 available contests for Los Angeles.
