Lakers News: Series Betting Odds For LA-Golden State Round 2 Revealed
This afternoon, your Los Angeles Lakers discovered that they will be squaring off against the reigning NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, in a somewhat surprising second playoff matchup between the Western Conference's sixth and seventh seeds.
The Warriors, who will have home court advantage thanks to a superior regular season record (44-38 to LA's 43-39), are favored to win the series and advance to the Western Conference Finals for the second straight season, with -164 betting odds, per The Action Network. Los Angeles has +138 odds to win. On the other side of the bracket, the top-seeded Denver Nuggets are playing the fourth-seeded Phoenix Suns in their own second round matchup, which Denver leads 1-0.
Both clubs are relatively healthy heading into the series, so the Lakers won't enjoy any kind of major injury advantage, as they did against the Grizzlies in the first round.
All-Star LA small forward LeBron James (right foot tendon tear recovery), center Anthony Davis (right foot stress injury maintenance), and reserve point guard Dennis Schroder (left ankle sprain) continue to rehabilitate their various ailments, but it seems likely they'll have to play through the injuries in this series. For the Warriors, Patrick Baldwin Jr. is dealing with a sore left toe, while Andre Iguodola and Ryan Rollings are recovering from surgeries to a left wrist and right foot, respectively. None would be part of Golden State's postseason rotation this year, as former NBA Finals MVP Iguodala has been limited to just eight games this season due to various maladies.
