15-time All-Star center Shaquille O'Neal, perhaps most known for his eight-year stint with your Los Angeles Lakers in which he went to four NBA Finals and won three straight, made ripples yesterday when he posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed without any explanation.

Now, it appears that O'Neal has provided some clarity on the issue, along with a very goofy animation of his derriere.

"[To] all the people who are concerned," Shaq began his missive. "First let me start off by saying thank you. And lastly [I] am fine. Just had to get some BBL work done aka #hipreplacement. but yes i am fine no need to worry."

The 7'1" big man is no stranger to going under the knife. Perhaps most famously, he underwent a surgery on his toe to improve his hallux rigidus (a kind of arthritis) on the digit at the start of the 2002-03 season instead of over the summer of 2002, in the interest of savoring his vacation time rather than being cooped up rehabbing. LA would go on to lose a playoff series for the first time in four years that season, falling to the eventual champions, the San Antonio Spurs, in the 2003 Western Conference Semifinals.
