Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr seems to be taking a page out of the book of his former Chicago Bulls head coach, Phil Jackson, who as you'll recall also coached your Los Angeles Lakers to five NBA titles in seven Finals appearances.

As Jackson did before him, Kerr is taking to the press to kvetch about the generous foul calls awarded to his opposition in this ongoing playoff series against Los Angeles. LA leads Golden State 3-1 following a narrow 104-101 Game 4 victory.

"They are a team that plays with a lot of gamesmanship, they understand how to generate some calls," Kerr opined. "I thought they took some flops and were rewarded."

The Lakers enjoyed a 20-12 free throw margin over the Warriors in Game 4. LA made 100% of its foul shots, while Golden State connected on 75%. For the series cumulatively, the Lakers are enjoying a massive +47 edge in made free throws over the Warriors. To be fair, Los Angeles relishes operating out of the paint, and accordingly was the top free throw shooting team in the NBA during the 2022-23 regular season, while Golden State had the lowest free throw shooting output of any team during that same span.
