After a disastrous start to their season where the franchise was poised to give away a lottery pick to New Orleans, your Los Angeles Lakers picked up all the pieces to make it back to the postseason for the first time since 2021.

On their road to the Western Conference Finals in 2023, the Lakers beat three teams, one of which making it known they still aren't over the series loss to the Purple and Gold.

The Golden State Warriors coach [Steve Kerr, now Austin Reaves' head coach with Team USA] saw his team's season end in the second round to the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, just months later, he finds himself coaching Austin Reaves, a member of those Lakers. The guard said that he has enjoyed having Kerr as a coach but Kerr has been playfully upfront about his dissatisfaction with last season's end. "Steve, basically, the first conversation we had was him being like, 'You know, I'm still not really over what you and y'all did to us this postseason," Reaves said, per

Austin Reaves emerged on the scene late in the year for the Lakers and helped put away Golden State in six games, an outcome that Kerr obviously still feels strongly about.

To the Warriors credit they've made moves to improve their roster in theory after extending power forward Draymond Green for four seasons and trading for veteran point guard Chris Paul after his exit from Phoenix.

Even after making it a round further than Golden State, the Lakers are also eager to repeat their successful season with a final push toward a title starting with bringing back many of their own talents from their playoff core that includes Reaves.
