Lakers Superstar Is Favorite Current Player For Ex-LA Rival To Watch

A surprising revelation.

Superstar Los Angeles Lakers small forward LeBron James' legend looms so large that it apparently transcends longtime NBA rivalries and resentments.

Former longtime power forward Antoine Carr, who was a fierce rival for Los Angeles in the Western Conference during the 1990s on various playoff-bound San Antonio Spurs and Utah Jazz clubs, has conceded that the best present Laker is his preferred NBA player to watch on the hardwood, bar none.

In an entertaining conversation with Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson for his YouTube program Scoop B Selects, Carr explained how James, more than anyone on any of his six NBA franchises (to be fair, Victor Wembanyama has yet to suit up for an official NBA game), was his favorite modern player to watch in today's game. Carr also mentioned a few other All-NBA talents.

"Well… probably my main man would be LeBron and then I’m going to have to go with a little bit of [Luka] Doncic and of course the big man from Denver, [Nikola] Jokic -- the Joker -- but he’s NO joke," Carr said.

To be fair, what James is up to is quite remarkable. In his 20th (!) NBA season, as the oldest player (38!) in the league receiving regular rotation minutes (only Udonis Haslem and Andre Iguodala were older, though neither was a permanent fixture in their franchise's lineups), the 6'9" forward averaged 28.9 points on .500/.321/.768 shooting splits, 8.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.6 blocks a night during the regular season, while pushing his team to another deep postseason run last spring.
