The Brow could get another HUGE bag from LA.

Laker big man Anthony Davis could be in line for another massive payday in the next few days. Rob Pelinka and the Lakers front office are eligible to extend Anthony Davis to a new three-year $170 contract in the coming days.

The Brow is coming off of a postseason run where he averaged 22.6 points, 14.1 rebounds and 3.1 blocks in the Lakers' run to the Western Conference Finals. In the opening round, Davis dominated on the defensive side of the ball against the second-seeded Grizzlies, especially in the series' final sixth game.

In a recent podcast episode of Brian Windhorst & the Hoop Collective, Windhorst mentioned that the purple and gold would expect the Lakers and Davis to at least negotiate a long-term deal.

"I do think there is an expectation that the Lakers make some sort of offer or show their intention to make some sort of offer.

Davis has been a Laker since the 2019-20 season after he played seven seasons in for the Pelicans as the no. 1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. The former Kentucky product was touted for his defensive prowess coming out of the draft and such a reputation holds serve to this day.

Davis is among the early betting favorites to win the DPOY award this upcoming season. Since becoming a Laker, Davis has struggled with some injuries and inconsistent play, but when engaged he remains one of the very best the league has to offer.

An elite rebounder, lockdown paint anchor on the defensive side and lob threat, Davis' extension would signal a strong commitment to one of the best players in the world and a concerted effort at another title for the purple and gold.
