Lakers News: Top NFL Prospect Stayed Undefeated In LeBron James Cleats Last Weekend
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner, who's also the odds-on favorite to make it two straight this year, sure knows how to win in style.
All-Pac-12 USC Trojans quarterback Caleb Williams helped power his undefeated club to its fifth straight victory of the season, a high-scoring 48-41 win over Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes, last weekend, and Williams did it while wearing a pair of LeBron James Nike cleats.
Williams donned the All-NBA Los Angeles Lakers small forward's "LeBron 4" while scoring six touchdowns, passing for 403 total yards (he completed 30 of 40 attempts), the longest being a 71-yard bomb to Tahj Washington that yielded a touchdown. He notched a 93.1 quarterback rating for his efforts.
Per Dan Treacy of Sporting News, James himself was actually in attendance at LA Memorial Coliseum for the matchup.
Unlike most of the Los Angeles-based celebrities in attendance to check out Coach Prime in action, the 38-year-old Lakers superstar had actually some skin in the game, as his son Bronny James is a matriculating freshman guard with the club's basketball team.
Like James, Williams is expected to be the top overall pick in the forthcoming 2024 NFL draft. The junior signal caller is considered to be a generational talent, again like James, with a rocket arm that should thrive at the next level.
